Pilgrimage

I was stubborn, you once said.
I bit my tongue, my words unsaid.
Your love had changed me.

On the ridge, we viewed the sea.
You turned your head and smiled at me.
My heart was aching.

You threw yourself upon my chest.
Your love, my heart still did protest.
I didn’t deserve you.

You took a trip to find your way.
The clouds built up; sky turned to grey.
And now I’ve lost you.

I pilgrimaged to your place.
I touched your stone. I made my peace.
I’ll always love you.
