Haiku is a Japanese poetic form consisting of three lines in a pattern of five syllables, seven syllables, five syllables. Haiku can be titled or untitled – I’ve done both here. Each post below contains 3-5 haiku. [Note that I use ‘haiku’ in the plural form as well as the singular.] Unrelated sets of haiku are numbered; themed sets are named. I am prone to writing free verse, but I do like the discipline of the haiku. I hope you enjoy them, and please feel free to add your own in the comments section of the posts.
