Taking the Road Less Traveled

I made it a habit to take the
barely trod paths at the forks in the trail.
I saw myself as an adventurer that way.
Always doing my own thing.
In retrospect, perhaps, a mistake.
But habits bond like cement,
need a sledge hammer to break.
Having always taken the road less traveled,
at the end of my days,
I find I am alone.
